Using Ultrasound to Improve Wound Healing
Open wounds can be a common event in the day-to-day life and usually heal without any significant intervention. However in some cases, these wounds can significantly impair patients’ quality of life, particularly in the case of slowly healing chronic wounds. The main objective of this project is to study the wound healing process using ultrasound imaging, as well as to identify features related to the healing stages from anatomical, vascular and oxygenation images. Combining these images with with machine learning, we will guide drug delivery to accelerate wound healing.
